The Possibility of Evil
"The town where she lived had to be kept clean and sweet, but people everywhere were lustful and evil and degraded, and needed to be watched; the world was so large, and there was only one Strangeworth left in it."
I choose this quote is because this clearly shows that Miss Strangworth is an old woman who is full of justice, pride and always pursuing everything to be 100% perfect as she expected. However, this quote also shows that she is a very meddlesome person who doesn't know (or even care about) what people think of what she's done to other people. In conclusion, she was a kindhearted old woman who would like to help people, but people don't seem to like what she does, as you can see at the end of the story, which Miss Strangworth's anonymous letter was accidentally dropped and sent to the people she delivered to with her name on it, written by the young guy who picked up the letter she dropped; at the end, when she saw how the person she sent the letter to reply her, she cried, maybe due to the sense of shame or realizing her impossible goal of perfection.
