Contents of the deadman's pocket quotation

"Contents of the dead man's pockets, he thought, one sheet of paper bearing penciled notations--incomprehensible."

  1. If I knew that i was going to die at that moment, i would think about how people were going to recognize me, and have it clear to my family, how did i die? Why was i dead, why here? I don't want it to be just a piece of paper with my roughly hand writings on it. If i could, i would put something that represented me.
As i read to this sentence, i thought Tom was going to died, becouse of the narrative way the author was describing. I predicted he was going to fall, and had it relate to the title. And also, the following story must be talking about people gathering around his dead body and wondering about his death. Though it actually didn't, and Tom was eventually safe.
