The author believed that kids today were deprived of the luxury to do nothing. The " Do Nothing" environment, according to the author, enriches a child's creativity. Therefore depriving a child of their free time undermines the child’s imagination and the ability to think outside the box in general. While I myself would rather be busy then bored, I do agree that kids today were left with very little( perhaps too late) time to explore their own heads. How could they when they were rushed from one activities to the next? Of course, the “ do nothing” time probably won’t inspire child geniuses, but instead, it might encourage children to have a little talk with their inner philosopher. Getting to know yourself is just as important as knowing the things and people around you.
