Doing Nothing is Something Quote
"Stories about the resignation of presidential aide Karen Hughes unfailingly reported her dedication to family time by noting that she arranged to get home at 5:30 one night a week to have dinner with her son. If one weekday dinner out of five is considered laudable, what does that say about what's become commonplace?"(Doing Nothing is Something).
The quote is persuasive since it exemplifies that children nowadays are extremely busy. In order to eat with her son, Hughes must arrange her schedule and change her pace of daily life. It's a great example which demonstrates that kids are fully occupied and they should have their own time to "do nothing". When children do nothing, they are actually doing something, such as developing thoughts and becoming creative.
ReplyDeleteI chose the same quote as Angela did. It's pretty effective on persuading me because it used a famous person's example and added a question at the end of this part. The example made me feel that even a person that busy have to make "appointment" with her son, then the problem is very obvious. The question at the end made me think even more because it left a space for my imagination to grow.
